Ms. Cori has taught a variety of business subjects at all levels of education in New Jersey throughout her years of teaching. Here at MPMS she teaches Integrated Business Applications to all 6th graders in their cycle classes.

She received her undergraduate degree from Montclair State University and a graduate degree from New Jersey City University. In her spare time she enjoys working out at the gym, playing racquetball, riding her mountain bike, shopping in every mall imaginable, and her “old-time favorite” bowling. As far as traveling is concerned, cruising down the Caribbean with her family has always and continues to be her ideal vacation.

BUSINESS EDUCATION AT WORK

Computers have been and will continue to be an important role in the curriculum here at Mt. Pleasant Middle School in room 210. Networked DELL personal computers hooked up to high-speed Internet access in an ergonomically sound working environment sets the tone for learning this 2004-2005 academic school year. Integrated Business Applications, a required 6th grade cycle course, will allow students to: develop correct touch-typing keyboarding techniques; format applications utilizing word processing concepts, terminology, and techniques; and incorporate all aspects of knowledge attained to produce a core content curriculum academic report using Microsoft Word 2003 software.

Students will work in the Media Center with Mrs. O’Malley, our Media Specialist, and an academic teacher on each team every marking period to research specific information about an assigned topic of study. Students will be able to navigate the Internet and utilize the variety of searching techniques taught to find the required data about their particular topic of study. As research procedures come to a close, students will then be able to incorporate all aspects of knowledge attained and produce a typewritten academic report with bibliographical citations in appropriate format as required in the Livingston School District Manual.

It is common knowledge that computer skills are essential for all students. Here at MPMS Integrated Business Applications will continue to offer our 6th graders a rewarding computer experience throughout this academic school year. It is evident that by providing our students with a variety of computer skills, the doors of opportunity will open up for them to build a solid future.

That’s what Integrated Business Applications is all about!
